The pandemic has not been easy; it’s been a challenging few years for every one of our colleagues, both in and out of the workplace. Therefore, after the stresses and strains of trying to maintain business continuity, and our multiple periods of enforced working from home, Chinachem is more conscious than ever of the need to support our colleagues and their families. Our workplace, transformed
Our head office was designed decades ago, long before the wellbeing of employees was considered. So, with learnings from an extended period of working from home, Chinachem recently embarked on a comprehensive remodeling programme, to create an inspiring workplace that people would genuinely want to come to every day.
And the transformation has been striking. Significantly more user friendly and healthier, the environment features lush greenery, natural materials, social hubs, enhanced air quality, and much greater natural light, making it feel more like a home than a workplace.

Chinachem Management Associate ProgrammeTo have a long-term sustainable future as an organization, we need to nurture development and growth. And through dialogue with our colleagues, we’re able to train, incentivize, and support them in their personal career goals; because if they are successful, we are successful too.
With that in mind, the end of 2022 saw the launch of Chinachem’s Management Associate Programme, the first of an annual opportunity for young graduates to enter a structured career development training scheme within the Group. Because laying pathways to succession, is a vital element in growing the value we create for the community.

Coffee with the CEOWe frequently arrange “Coffee with CEO” sessions for employees to share their views and obtain feedbacks in an informal setting. This allows them to voice valuable suggestions and exchange ideas with the CEO, who conversely cherishes the opportunity to hear and understand employees’ constructive opinions directly.

“Life First” safety campaignEmployee health and safety has always been our first priority. In Sep 2020, we participated in the “Life First” construction safety campaign, organised by the Construction Industry Council, to investigate the potential risks of the construction sites and organise health and safety related talks. We examined the potential risks of Anderson Road and Ho Man Tin Phase II Development projects sites, and organised seminars for our workers to promote construction safety awareness.

Nina Hotels adopted a new germicidal technology that encapsulates volatile biocides which are continuously controlled- released into the air. At NINA MALL 1 & 2, elevators are equipped with ‘kNOw Touch’ contactless panels that allow visitors to activate elevator buttons without risking virus transmission.
